The Denomination of Origin La Mancha has announced the II Comic or Illustration Contest with the aim of allowing cartoonists to channel art through the promotion of La Mancha wine and vineyards.
Entries must be submitted between today, October 2, and November 17. The celebration of the contest will coincide with the Comic Fair in El Provencio, Cuenca, to be held on December 1, 2 and 3, 2023, being on the 2nd when the prizes will be distributed to the winners.
In order to participate in this contest you must be of legal age, with original works, where the vineyards or wine must be the main attraction of the works among other requirements. The rules of the contest are published on the website of the Control Board and emphasize that “the vineyard or wine of La Mancha is a fundamental part of the story,” said the President of the DO La Mancha, Carlos David Bonilla.
The rules establish a first and second prize of 500 and 250 euros respectively, plus a Special Prize ‘History and Wine’, also of 250 euros, to the work “that best reflects the vineyards and life in La Mancha around the wine industry,” clarified the president of the DO La Mancha.
