Acting at
Drawing

Course definition and objectives

This course focuses on the study of the movement of the human body from the draftsman’s point of view for the creation and development of characters.
To do this we will use tools from the world of theater and body expression, which aim to expand the framework of the artist’s work.
These tools are used by professional animators and illustrators.
Their pedagogical application is beginning to expand in art schools around the world.
The purpose of the course is to integrate the tools of scenic creation into the cartoonist’s work habits, expanding his ability to represent the interpretation of his drawn characters at the level of movement and emotional expression.

Content distribution

The course is divided into two weekly classes: In the first one there will be 60 % body and 40 % drawing and, in the following one, 70 % drawing and 30 % body.
In this way, one class will focus on body work and on the representation in drawing of the experience with more spontaneous and free results; the other class will focus on the technical and graphic aspects of drawing.
