This course is specially designed to give you the necessary tools to continue training in the field of drawing and illustration, with the clear objective of helping you to achieve the professional future you want.

Course objectives

The Advanced course of Drawing, Narrative and Digital Illustration aims to expand your knowledge to direct your professional career mainly to industries such as film, advertising and video games.

From the sketch to the final finish, going through all the phases, you will build your drawings strengthening each of the processes with new concepts.
You will create characters and their environment, integrating expressive elements such as the line of action or acting in the figures.

You will apply new concepts that will help you improve both quality and productivity, such as speedpainting.
You will assimilate a better understanding of volumes and perspective by integrating 2D and 3D.

You will approach the professional sector by creating your portfolio and learning how to develop a speech that defends and consolidates your final project, applying the right marketing and perfecting the design and layout.

The advanced course of Drawing, Narrative and Digital Illustration has as purpose that the student finds depth in different techniques of representation, improve in the practice of drawing and expand their knowledge and techniques of digital illustration.

STRUCTURAL DRAWING

  • Construction, definition and understanding of the human figure and its volumes.
  • Diversification of materials for sketching.
    (pencil, ink, pen, markers, sanguine, etc.).
  • Application of the content in a natural model.

GESTURAL DRAWING

  • Expressive elements: the line of action, the acting of the figures and the dynamism in the poses.
  • Gain agility and fluency in fast and spontaneous strokes.
  • Work on these concepts in the movement and acting model class.

ENVIRONMENT DRAWING

  • Composition and narrative in illustration using backgrounds and characters.
  • Introduction of color as an atmospheric and narrative element.
  • FINISHING
    Work on the last aspects of the improvement and finishing
    always focused on what has been learned and developed during the year with the intention of making keyshots and illustrations that can be added to the dossier of each student also introducing the use of finishing techniques such as watercolor or India ink.

SPEEDPAINTING

  • Techniques, Tools, Composition.
  • Correct application of practical concepts, improvement of
    composition capacity, improvement of speed and performance.

PROPS AND ASSETS

  • Review of basic digital illustration processes:
  • Rendering and finishing techniques.

CHARACTER DESIGN

  • Silhouettes and gesture, color, communication and narrative in design.
  • Rendering techniques

PORTRAIT

  • Anatomy and facial expression:
  • Correct application of theoretical concepts, polishing and finishing in facial expression and character registration.
  • Rendering techniques.

FLORA AND FAUNA

  • Animal anatomy.
    Application of design tools according to biology and contextualization.
  • Rendering techniques.

ARCHITECTURE

  • Optimal application of concepts, work methodology and image organization.
  • Integration of 2D+3D, construction of a setting (Box modeling) for a better understanding of volumes and perspective.

SCENERY AND ENVIRONMENTS

  • Space work, rendering techniques and digital perspective
  • 2D+3D integration
    Application of lighting in environments.

SPLASH ART

  • Application of the theoretical and practical concepts of the course, integration of figures and backgrounds in the scene.
  • Final summary of course contents and their application in the student's personal projects.
  • Defense and consolidation of the final course project and the work process carried out during the course.
  • Project marketing.
  • Improvement of the design, layout and polishing of the final project.

DURATION OF THE COURSE
9 month course.
From October to June.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
from 16 to 20h.
REGISTRATION
Selection of students through personal interview and portfolio. For access to the course, knowledge acquired through previous academic or self-taught training will be valued.
QUALIFICATION
The center's own diploma awarded at the end of the Advanced Drawing, Art and Digital Illustration course.

Access to the Art Grafic, Illustration, Concept Art, Drawing Initiation, Advanced Drawing and Digital Illustration courses is through the completion of a level test.

It is not necessary to have previous studies to access these courses, although having completed higher artistic studies will be valued.

Access to the Art Grafic course is through a level test that consists of making a drawing following some guidelines.
Normally, the test takes place during the month of April and there are usually two calls.
The correction and notification of results are communicated about 10 days after taking the test.
If you do not pass the test, our course coordination team will guide you to access other courses.

Access to the Concept Art and Illustration courses is also through a level test.
In case you do not pass the test, our course coordination team will guide you so that you can continue training with us to reach your goals.

The access to the Animation course is through an interview with the course coordinator Juan Carlos Concha.
A specific book will be required.

Access to the Children’s Illustration course is through an interview with the head of studies José Ma Polls.
It will be necessary to present a book.

In that case, don’t worry.
We can arrange the interview online.
We also offer the possibility to take the placement test for the course of
Art Grafic through this way.

Normally, every year, during the month of March, we hold open house sessions to inform about everything related to our courses.

In addition, you can come and ask for information and visit the school during our opening hours. e our schedule Monday to Friday from 9 to 13.30h and from 16 to 20h.
and Saturdays from October to June from 10 to 14h.

Our registration period for annual and summer courses starts in April.

Once you have passed the registration and enrollment process, we will send you a certificate so that you can apply for your student visa.

They are mainly taught in Spanish.
We have students from all over the world.

The didactic material and the paper used in class will be provided by the teacher, but the individual material will have to be brought by the student.

Every year in the month of July, we hold summer courses for 4 weeks in the month of July.

Most of these courses are beginners, although we also offer some specific courses where a certain level is required.
