In this 3D modeling course you will learn how to use all the tools offered by Blender to make your illustrations take another dimension.

In the Joso 3D Modeling with Blender course for illustrators you will learn how to use the software in depth to model all kinds of elements and make renderings.
The objective of this course is to deepen and acquire knowledge about Blender to apply it in the design of industries such as video games or visual effects.

At the end of the course you will have assimilated the concepts and tools of the program to use them in the world of 3D design and you will be able to implement all your projects.
With this and your talent you will have everything you need to become the 3D artist you want.

Course program

The intensive course of 3D Modeling with Blender for illustrators aims to provide students with the necessary tools to mold, texture, light and render their own projects.

  • Introduction to Blender's navigation system.
  • Add, duplicate and delete objects in the scene.
  • Use basic transformation tools: Move, Scale and Rotate.
  • Camera positioning, lighting and rendering.
  • Start working in edit mode.
  • Selection and internal transformation of the geometry.
  • Use different modeling tools.
  • Combining, collapsing and deleting geometry.
    Use of Proportional editing.
  • Use nesting options.
  • Manipulate pivot for scale and rotation.
  • Options to facilitate the visualization during the work: hide objects, hide overlays, enable and disable X-Rays.
  • Modeling with curves.
  • Creation of materials using basic parameters: B
  • ase color, Metallic and Roughness.
  • Creation of emissive materials, with transmission and alpha.
  • Introduction to the use of the Shader editor.
  • Creation of gradients and procedural textures.
  • Assemble materials by importing textures.
  • Plan and build the foundation of a fantasy environment.
  • Perform set dressing by modeling the assets.
  • Use of the asset browser to organize assets.
  • Perform complex lighting using various light sources.
    Lighting using HDRIs.
  • Include simple animations and effects.
  • Add particles using geometry nodes.

Course information

DURATION OF THE COURSE
4 month course. From March to June. Tuesdays and Fridays from 16 to 20h.
METHODOLOGY
Theory and group exercises in class + individual work.
QUALIFICATION
The center's own diploma awarded at the end of the 3D Modeling course.

Access to the Art Grafic, Illustration, Concept Art, Drawing Initiation, Advanced Drawing and Digital Illustration courses is through the completion of a level test.

It is not necessary to have previous studies to access these courses, although having completed higher artistic studies will be valued.

Access to the Art Grafic course is through a level test that consists of making a drawing following some guidelines.
Normally, the test takes place during the month of April and there are usually two calls.
The correction and notification of results are communicated about 10 days after taking the test.
If you do not pass the test, our course coordination team will guide you to access other courses.

Access to the Concept Art and Illustration courses is also through a level test.
In case you do not pass the test, our course coordination team will guide you so that you can continue training with us to reach your goals.

The access to the Animation course is through an interview with the course coordinator Juan Carlos Concha.
A specific book will be required.

Access to the Children’s Illustration course is through an interview with the head of studies José Ma Polls.
It will be necessary to present a book.

In that case, don’t worry.
We can arrange the interview online.
We also offer the possibility to take the placement test for the course of
Art Grafic through this way.

Normally, every year, during the month of March, we hold open house sessions to inform about everything related to our courses.

In addition, you can come and ask for information and visit the school during our opening hours. e our schedule Monday to Friday from 9 to 13.30h and from 16 to 20h.
and Saturdays from October to June from 10 to 14h.

Our registration period for annual and summer courses starts in April.

Once you have passed the registration and enrollment process, we will send you a certificate so that you can apply for your student visa.

They are mainly taught in Spanish.
We have students from all over the world.

The didactic material and the paper used in class will be provided by the teacher, but the individual material will have to be brought by the student.

Every year in the month of July, we hold summer courses for 4 weeks in the month of July.

Most of these courses are beginners, although we also offer some specific courses where a certain level is required.

GABRIEL BARBABIANCA

Con más de diez años de experiencia profesional en el sector, Gabriel Barbabianca es experto en el software Blender para modelado 3D. 

Empezó su carrera realizando ilustraciones para portadas de libros y juegos de mesa. Posteriormente, se especializó en Concept Art con encargos como background artist y character designer en producciones de animación. A partir del 2019, amplió su carrera trabajando en videojuegos como lead environment artist y 3D artist.

Como artista es un apasionado de la experimentación y siempre aprovecha cada oportunidad para estudiar e intentar aprender nuevas técnicas con las cuales expresarse de forma creativa.
