Self-publishing

of fanzines

Are you a cartoonist, illustrator or visual artist?
Do you have an idea and want to make yourself known?
Do it with a fanzine!
At Joso we have been promoting the work of students with this format for many years, so you can be sure that we know a lot about fanzines.

Learn organization and design techniques and get to know the most used terms in desktop publishing and production.
In addition, with this workshop you will acquire the fundamental knowledge of printing and layout in InDesign to make your own fanzine individually or collectively.

Professor

Robert Garcia

Graphic designer and Art Director.
His passion for comics led him to expand his knowledge in Escola Joso (where he never left again…).
He combines his first years as a teacher at Joso with his work in advertising, working for brands such as Panrico, Coca Cola, Danone… and collaborating in the development of the graphic image of the Barcelona Olympic Games.
In 2005 he created his own studio, Super Creativo, which soon after became a T-shirt brand.
During that time, he also works as a colorist for Disney and the American market and becomes part of the staff of Escola Joso as Art Director.
In 2016 he founds Dibujos por Sonrisas, a non-profit association that raises funds for the dignification of refugees through artistic actions.
More than 800 artists have donated illustrations for this purpose.
This will be the germ of Diferente, a graphic novel that brings together 150 cartoonists to tell a story, with a script by the great Isra Escudero.
He currently coordinates with Leticia Rodríguez the Joso+, Escola Joso’s digital platform, where you can find online classes (and onlive) in the purest Joso style.
